Printmaking

Most of my printmaking is done with thin, delicate linework to show the beauty and intricacy of daily life.

Within the natural elements, there are bugs like bees, a snail slithering in the foreground, and a mouse peeking out from the grass.

The figure is a merging of the front half of a bee eater bird on the left with the back half as a sunflower on the right. There is a bee flying just to the side of the sunflower.

The main figure is a woman whose face is cut off above the lips by the top of the image, and legs are cut off just above the knee. She is wearing a brown fur coat and holding a baby fox. The woman is centered in the image and the background is pink on the left side of her and orange on the right.

The majority of the image is covered with an organic design of natural elements like vines, leaves and flowers. Over the natural elements is an outline of the buildings in a city skyline.

Organic shapes and elements fill the space. The textures of the shapes were created by various common items like bubble wrap, sandpaper, plastic bags, cardboard, and leaves. The print covers two long pieces of paper and are sewn together with waxed thread.
